Valencia Elementary School is located in an established neighborhood in the northern part of Upland. We are nestled up against the San Gabriel mountains which gives us stunning views from our school site every day!  When entering our school, you will be greeted by our Only One You rock garden that celebrates the unique qualities of each of our students.  From there, we have over 25 classrooms that are staffed by highly qualified teachers who dedicate themselves to successful learning for all of their students each day.  Valencia is home to two Specialized Academic Instruction classes that meet the needs of students in grades 1-6.  We also have a Resource Specialist Program, a part-time school psychologist, an occupational therapist, a full-time speech-language therapist, and other itinerant staff to support students.

Our classroom teachers design dynamic lessons to teach the Common Core and New Generation Science Standards.  Emphasis is placed on collaborative learning and deep, critical thinking.  Many of our classrooms utilize small group reading and math instruction to support students' individual strengths and ares of need.

Valencia students enjoy three playgrounds-one for our TK and kindergarteners, one for our first through third graders and one that our upper graders enjoy.  Our Eagles have soccer fields, basketball and volleyball courts, tetherball and four square games plus playground equipment to enjoy.  We are currently beginning the process of implementing the Peaceful Playground program which will give our students 100+ additional games to play during their recess breaks.

Valencia has implemented school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support which focuses on teaching positive behavior and acknowledging students who are meeting behavior expectations.  Since the implementation of PBIS, we have seen an increase in students' appropriate behavioral choices both in and out of the classroom.
